Porto Cervo

With some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Porto Cervo is considered the jewel of the Costa Smeralda. It is located in the northeastern part of the island, and is one of its most renowned seaside resorts. The beaches are located south of the town, a few km away, where you can find real masterpieces of nature with crystal clear water and white sand. There are both free and more secluded beaches, and equipped beaches also frequented by celebrities from the entertainment world. Fraction of the municipality of Arzachena in the province of Sassari, Porto Cervo is located in the north-eastern part of Sardinia and is geographically part of the Gallura subregion. The tourism that interests this area is the driving force of the local economy and the "luxury holidays" in Porto Cervo are renowned among the magnates of the whole world. Sea, luxury, VIPs, yachts and nightlife are the main ingredients of Porto Cervo, a privileged place for international jet-setters. The inhabited center develops around the panoramic terrace of the famous Piazzetta and the Church of Stella Maris from where small streets full of boutiques, jewelers and trendy restaurants wind their way. The architecture of the village, in pastel tones, recalls that typical of Gallura and makes Porto Cervo a real postcard view. It can be said that the entire town is a resort wanted by Prince Karim Aga Khan, who in the 60s was struck by this area and decided to buy the land and then build the Old Port and the tourist site that develops all around , with the help of the architects Jacques Couelle and Luigi Vietti. The famous Yacht Club Costa Smeralda was founded in 1967 and still sees moored luxury yachts among the most beautiful in the world. To reach Porto Cervo you can fly to Olbia airport, about 30 km, or dock at the port of Olbia reached by ferries from Genoa and Civitavecchia.
